FATHOM CITY
The Detroit music scene is not a
single genre. A collective effort from
various talents define this area
through musicianship, dedication,
and a work ethic that has derived
from the blue collar mentality
that has always made Detroit great.
Fathom City has taken it upon
themselves to pay tribute to the
variety of sounds that makes the
Detroit music scene so unique.
Refusing to limit themselves to any
particular genre all while creating a
sound that is their own.
Founded by bassist Steve Lupinski,
formerly of After The Tide, Martel,
Kubrick’s Message and A Gathering
of Giants, has been a part of the
music scene for over 16 years.
Delivering energetic, but
groove-orientated bass licks, Steve
proves his experience as a well
rounded musician and will not
disappoint.
Drumming those killer beats for
Fathom City is none other than Joe
Kaschynyc. Although he was not the
original drummer at first, Joe
provides the band with his skills
100%. He currently plays in Eva
Under Fire and was Steve’s ex-band
mate from After The Tide. Coming
from a background of pop punk and
metal, Joe brings an upbeat but
dynamic sound to the rhythm
section.
The next member to join was lead
vocalist William May, who also is
the lead singer from Broken Day
Machine and formerly the guitarist
from Death of a Hero, has been
active on the scene since 2003. His
broad range of influences adds an
extensive amount of diversity to the
lineup.
Several auditions later, brought two
lead guitarist. Both are new to the
scene, both have a symphonic
sound and both have a style that is
undeniably dynamic.
Ryan Thomas, hails from Oshkosh,
Wisc. and is heavily rooted in classic
and Indie rock. Writing memorable
riffs and hooks that will keep you
coming back for more.
Justin Sant Angelo from the heart
of downriver brings an ear trained in
music theory and a jazzy funk
based guitar that simply works so
well with his counter part Ryan.
There’s really no defined lead
guitarist in Fathom City, with both
working as one.
Last but not least, Emcee
Motormouth came into the band
delivering a unique sound of
keyboards-synth, and samples.
Coming from all types of musical
background, a true genius of sounds.
To keep listeners engaged and
wanting more Emcee Motormouth
keeps the party going and fills the
gaps between the notes, it’s like
heaven in your ear.
Fathom City portrays the sound of
a culturally diverse metropolis. A
style that is laced with such a broad
amount of influences and
experience. Months of hard work,
patience, and unified sense of
perfectionism has created a sound
that will not disappoint. You can find
Fathom City performing at your
