Alex Mendenall

 

I play an eclectic mix of soul,

lounge, and jazz and support my

guitar and vocals with dynamic

foot percussion.

 

My music is high-energy and has

been compared to Allen Stone and

 Steely Dan. In addition to originals,

 I play a wide range of covers;

nearly everything from Van Morrison

 to The Black Keys. I’ve toured the

US extensively and have played

 events like the Beaver Island Music

 Festival, Traverse City Film Festival,

 Holler Fest, Dunesville Music

Festival, East Lansing Summer

Concert Series, Roots on the River,

and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival.

 

I have worked with local and

nationally touring acts like The

 Accidentals, Flint Eastwood, The

 Ragbirds, The Appleseed

Collective, Tyler Hilton, Ryan

Cabrera, and Hayley Kiyoko. My

newest album, “Into the Hinterland”

was nominated for a WYCE Jammie

 for Best Jazz Album and takes a

deep dive into soul, folk, lounge,

and Latin inspired jazz.
