MOTOR CITY GROOVE is a collection of 14 top musicians and singers from the Detroit area who bring an exciting brand of music to the stage. Known for their powerful 6-piece horn section, Motor City Groove’s bright, brassy sound resonates with audiences everywhere.

The music of Motor City Groove spans multiple genres that include R&B, Pop, Funk, Jazz, and Soul. The sound they deliver is fabulous – clean, rich, tight, engaging. They know how to cut a hot groove.
Led by noted saxophonist, William Cyprian, Motor City Groove performs in multiple configurations – from a 5 piece group to the full band.


Motor City Groove has performed at major venues like the 7,000-seat Freedom Hill Amphitheatre, the Jazz Café at Detroit’s famed Music Hall, Detroit’s Hard Rock Café, Campus Martius Park, and The New Year’s Eve D-Drop. They bring audiences to their feet whenever they play.

Melanie Rutherford, Gold Record songwriter for Sony recording artist, KEM, and occasional guest vocalist for the group, calls band leader and saxophonist, Will Cyprian, “A man with a sound and a purpose”.
