Originating from the “Small Town” of Kalamazoo, the diverse group has been brought together by a mutual love of art. Their live arrangements are reminiscent of The Internet, The Roots, and Hiatus Kaiyote and Tank and The Bangas where melodic cello or saxophone lines, jazz harmony, and gospel piano set a beautiful soundscape underneath the soulful voices and poetic lyricism of  Jessica Ivey and Jay Jackson. Their most recent album Seen Not Heard brought home  2 WYCE Jammies for Best Album by a new artist. As Last Gasp Collective continues to debunk stereotypes one melody at a time, their music spreads to touch the hearts of people from all walks of life.
