Cassaundra
Cassaundra Fitch grew up in a very musical family and played flute in the high school marching band. The development
of her own musical voice, however, did not occur until college. Throughout her life, Cassaundra often expressed her thoughts and life experiences in the form of poetry. During her sophomore year at Michigan State University, Cassaundra’s poetry blossomed and turned into music. The guitar that sat unused at home became her vehicle to introduce a captivating
voice with passionate messages.
“Free Fall,” her first indie music video, attracted the attention of internationally-renowned composer, arranger and producer, Dan Yessian. Within a very short period of time, Yessian signed her to an artist development contract.
Cassaundra kicked off America’s Thanksgiving Parade in 2014 with the song “Tell Me I’m Not Dreaming,” written by Yessian. She has also opened shows for “Gossip Girl” actress/ singer-songwriter Leighton Meester & singer-songwriter YouTube sensation Kawehi, performed an on air episode of Mitch Albom’s WJR national radio show, and has performed in some of Michigan’s biggest festival events.
Cassaundra’s first acoustic EP features 5 original songs that capture her raw, heartfelt, emotional messages and soulful delivery. Cassaundra’s new EP was released on Late to the Plate Recordings. She states that her new EP, “Encompasses very vulnerable, personal stories of my own heartbreak and sorrow. I wanted to write songs about real life and connect with my
fans on a deeper level.”
