Cara
Cara began her musical journey when she was very young; she started singing at family gatherings and quickly garnered the nickname “Cara Bird” for her beautiful voice. Cara studied piano, voice, and the violin during her childhood. As a youngster she sang the National Anthem at several local sporting events, played Christmas concerts at retirement communities, and became rather well known in southeastern Michigan.
Cara continued her musical journey at the University of Michigan as a Vocal Performance major. It was there that she developed the friendships and inspiration that would lead her to pursue music as a professional career. Cara left the University in January of 2015 after successfully completing her junior year to pursue music full time.
She performs regularly, either solo on piano, with her six-piece ensemble band, or as a duo, trio, or quartet depending on the venue size and requirements. She is known for her beautiful voice, engaging performances, and charismatic personality.
Following a traumatic personal loss in 2014, Cara was inspired to write music in earnest. She focuses her performance on her original songs, along with a great mix of covers from a wide range of musical genres including blue-eyed soul, pop, and foreign language songs.
Cara continues to actively write, record and perform in both English and Polish; travels annually to Poland and Europe; and is working with her management team on upcoming tours in both Poland and throughout the United States. Cara speaks Polish, Russian, and Norwegian.
Her producer debuted her new band at the Copernicus Center’s 2016 “Taste of Polonia Festival” Labor Day weekend, marking her first appearance in the Chicago area for her beloved Polish public.
