Barelyon
Introducing a crowd pleasing force of musical talent and energy! Barelyon is what happens when The Motor City and The Big Apple join forces to create an exciting mix of soulful pop-rock with a focus on duets and harmonies. Their sound is described as a female Frank Sinatra with a bit of Amy Winehouse, joined with the catchy songwriting of John Mayer meets the White Stripes.
While very entertaining as a duo, Barelyon brings an even more energetic vibe when drummer Dave McConnell joins the mix in the full Barelyon band. They are well versed at performing in many different types of venues, and can use a house PA system or bring their own.
Brion Riborn is an established Detroit musician, who earned the GROUNDBREAKER Award for HatchFest 2012. He has four studio albums under his belt and has worked with the likes of Dean Dinning (Toad the Wet Sprocket) and Phil Solem (The Rembrandts), and as a solo artist spent many years travelling between Detroit and New York to perform.
While living in NYC in 2014, Brion met NYC native, Leona CW, an accomplished model with a voice and ear for music, in a small jazz bar in Manhattan. The two soon began writing music and started Barelyon. Since the duo formed, they have performed extensively in both NYC and Metro Detroit. They currently call Michigan their home and are excited to be a part of bringing great music and vibes to Motown.
